PEDAG WATERGUARD LIQUID WATERPROOFER, 400mL
- smooth leather and suede
- oil-nubuck
- textiles
- stretch fabrics
- climate membranes
With our Pedag all-round WATERPROOFER, wetness, dirt and stains don't stand a chance. Just like a smooth coat, the WATERPROOFER creates a protecting coat around leather and other materials. The effect: water just rolls off the surface, the material itself stays dry, remaining smooth and breathable.
For ideal protection, your clothes, accessories and shoes should be treated with our WATERPROOFER three times before wearing them the first time. In case of shoes with
leather soles those should be treated, too. Don’t forget to apply the WATERPROOFER regularly in order to refresh the protection.
Three steps to waterproof
- Use waterproofing sprays only outside or in well ventilated rooms. Shake well before use.
- Apply the spray on clean and dry surfaces from a distance of 30 centimetres (1 foot). Make sure you apply only a thin film of waterproofer and that the material does not get soaked. For optimal protection results, apply the spray three times.
- Afterwards, allow the shoes to dry for 20 to 30 minutes. To finish, smooth leather shoes may want to be polished. When treating suede shoes, lift up the nap with a special brush
Tip: When waterproofing your shoes, do not forget to apply the waterproofer on seams and leather soles, too! To protect these delicate areas, the pedag Liquid Waterproofer is the ideal product.
Which shoes should be waterproofed?
You should waterproof all shoes that you wear outside (except rubber boots and sandals), because wet upper materials lose their breathability, get heavier and let the foot cool down. So it's better to stride through the woods with dry feet.
You should apply the waterproofer regularly. At the latest when you notice that the water-repellent effect becomes weaker and the materials become hygroscopic. This happens more quickly if the equipment is heavily used, because the impregnation naturally wears out because of the friction on the material when you move.
Waterproofing important for sports shoes
Waterproofing is particularly important for functional clothing and outdoor or sports shoes. If the impregnation is worn out, the material loses its water-repellent effect. The result: it sucks up, dries badly, loses its breathability and cools you down. The waterpoofers meet the special requirements of modern materials and preserve their function and value.
